With Christmas coming I thought you all might enjoy one of our familys favorite breakfasts, especially if you have company staying over.
The kids and grands were here over the Thanksgiving holiday...
I've learned to put all the salad makings into individual dishes and have it salad bar style so everyone can put in or leave out what they like on their salads. It saves a lot of confusion and my trying to remember who eats onions and who won't eat bell pepper, ect...
After dinner, I pass out quart freezer zip-loc bags and let everyone place in the bag from the salad bar what they want in their omelet for the next morning ...hint..use a perm. magic marker to write everyones name on their bags before filling.
I then crack and add to each bag two large eggs and then mash it up a little ....More won't work as well... seal well. I place all the bags a large container for the night in the refridgerator.
In the morning bring to a boil a large pot of water about half full...enough to drop all the bags into with out overflowing the pot.{ I use the same pot that we do corn on the cob in} Bring the water to a full rolling boil and then drop the bags into the boiling water for thirteen minutes unless they really put a lot of cheese and vegtables into the bags then you might add a couple more minutes as needed.
When the times up, lift from the water and cut the top off the bag and it will pour right onto the plate like magic!! This is fun for everyone and we hope if you try it you will let us know...granny
