Josh, James & Ron....
this is unacceptable and I think she should be told about it.... matter of fact I will go to her site and let her know what I think about that sort of advertising!
An Ad on a private message site - I don't think so..... I don't like telephone solicitations and CERTAINLY not this!

the following is what I PM'd back to her..... I believe she is on line now, and I certainly hope she sees it!
THAT IS A DISGUSTING WAY TO ADVERTISE..... WE HAVE AN AREA FOR ADVERTISING.
THIS IS NOTHING MORE THAN SPAM
TELEPHONE SOLICITATION IS BEING OUTLAWED HERE AND SPAM IS A NO NO ON THE INTERNET
PLEASE DISCONTINUE THIS PRACTICE
WHEN I RECEIVE A PRIVAT MESSAGE - I DO NOT EXPECT TO BE BOMBARDED WITH SOMEONE ELSES EGO FOR THEIR WEBSITE.
I EXPECT TO HEAR FROM A "FRIEND"

I am sorry Dragnlaw. I was just trying to help my husband. Again, i am sorry.
Just for future reference for anyone reading this, I think most people don't enjoy unsolicited mail, even the electronic sort. :) If anyone is thinking of sending PMs promoting their website, I strongly suggest you consult the forum moderators and we can help you choose the best way to promote your business and/or website. I'd be more than happy to help you in that regard.

Sounds like it could be a swing. Or maybe not thats one of the great things about this site I think you would have to mess up really bad to be out.

What's a swing?

3 strikes and you out like in baseball. And a swing counts as a strike.

I have been told that I have 3 swings left, before I have to wash someone's dishes! What about the guy Steve something, that wants us to read his blog on some other website? Ususally, they get paid for the # of people that read their blogs. Maybe I'm wrong but he doesn't blog here...

If a member, especially a new member, makes a mistake and is corrected, that's the end of it. If it persists, the membership can be terminated but this member has apologized for the error in judgement, so I see no reason for further action.
If Josh sees it differently he'll advise.

When I talked about strikes - it was a JOKE....
I'm not a moderator, admin of any sort, I'm just a little ol'granny with nothing better to do than make lame jokes, collect my eggs, and annoy people with my antics on this forum.
Just because I have the embarrassing position of being the person to make the most posts (I just noticed that yesterday :S: :blushing:) does not make me an expert -in anything. Certainly not in tact, chickens or protocol. I do have an annoying habit of speaking my mind - usually when I should shut up.
I feel for Josh, ( and James and Ron) it seems we've gotten rid of the **** spam and now are starting to be invaded by religious e-bay sales! I guess with the rapid growth this popular site has experienced it is to be expected :( . New members will learn we are really here for the chickens.
p.s.
You are stuck with your debt if you can't budge it. :D

dragnlaw:
While taking the endless courses that those of us who spend years in business have to take, one that was particularly valuable, to me personally, was one on Team Building. What I took out of that course is that the world is made up of Type A personalities, also known as Extroverts and Type B personalities, also known as Introverts.
A successful team is made up of a balance of both types. While the extroverts are busy reacting (sometimes over-reacting) to issues, the introverts (of which I am a member) are busy thinking the issue through, before we react.
Neither type of personality is better, nor worse, than the other, just different. Although I have to admit I know Extroverts who have annoyed me to distraction! I'm sure the reverse is also true.
I think you might have over-reacted, 3 responses to one error in judgement was a bit Over-the-top, but what's done is done, you received an apology, now we can go on to other things.
James
PS - To the lawyers out there, I'm sure Tony was only joking!
