Greetings All,

I am elderly and retired. I live in N.E. Florida about 11 miles west of Fernandina Beach. I have 1.5 acres with 150 ft frontage on a tidal creek. On the other side of the creek is a wild life preserve. It is my intention to raise 3 or 4 Delaware hens in a tractor coop with a hen house and a 4ft x 8ft pen roofed with chicken wire. They will be raised from peeps. When old enough they will be allowed to free range and contained in the tractor coop/pen at night. I have been lurking for a while and am impressed by the camaraderie, the depth of knowledge and the willingness to share that knowledge shown by this board's contributors.

I am a Newbie and have a number of questions. Should I post them all in one fell swoop or post them individually?

Hello and Welcome to Poultry One.

You can post your questions one at a time or several at a time which ever way seems easier for you. I would post them one subject at a time (chicken, coop, or feed) I find you get a better variety of answers that way. And sometimes if you post too many questions at one time while someone is replying to a question they over look the other questions. That just my opinion I seem to have a one track mind most of the time.

Hotrod's suggestion is a good one. As you may have noticed, sometimes we get a little sidetracked.... :blushing: so it might be easier if you posted seperately. Especially when you want to go back and find that 'particular' statement again!

and Welcome to PoultryOne!

I'm from your neck of the woods as well...

In Arlington... and I love Fernandina.. could go for a drink right about now at Brett's and watch the ocean off their decks!!

(but, that is WHEN I am home...)
(I'm on leave for 2 weeks in Sept (heading for Jax)...and right now, I am counting the days I can space block myself on a MAC flight outta here.... cross your fingers that the sandstorms don't wanna get busy while I am trying to get out of this sandpile!)

Aside from that....

Welcome aboard... You'll find some awesome friends, helpful answers, and a plain ole grand time getting to know us and of course our chickens, and other assorted pets!! We call is "As the Chicks Turn...."lol...

again, Welcome
Athena

Hello Judy,

Yes. although of course I'm biased I do think it's a very nice place. When I figure out how to do it I'll post a couple of photos.

Hey Norm! Welcome to the Forum! I look forward to your posts, because as you learn, I do too! Also, I am the poster child for the "There are no dumb questions" category, so even if you think it's a really dumb question, chances are either it's not as dumb as you think it is, or I have already asked it, and can answer it for you!

Welcome Norm! Like Debbie said, don't feel your questions are too silly. And Tony, you must've been watching too many American westerns 'cause you're beginning to talk like the cowboys--"Howdy!?"

Welcome Norm! I have never seen a part of FL that I didn't love. I would love to move there but I guess I am stuck in KY at least for now. Ask any questions you have and you will get your answer here. Never talked to folks that were any better than here. We are like one big happy family. So again, WELCOME!
