Josh: Whenever I see your directive to "Discuss!" I think of Mike Meyers doing the
Koffee Talk skit on SNL. "Chicken: feed 'em and weep. Talk amongst yourselves!"

Regarding feed costs, I can only say that guessing commodity prices in an unstable market takes brass
ovaries. The morning farm report has ruined the day of many a speculator. Fortunately, while I grouse about the rising price of feed, I only suffer the angst of uncertain markets at the rate of 250 lbs per load. Feed costs have been going down a bit around here, at least on the locally processed feed, like layer mix. The cost of dog and cat food is going to put me into the poor house.

I will say that I wont mind saying goodbye to some of the Kennys in a couple of weeks. Man, them things are eating machines. Someone posted recently about 6 weeks being prime time for broilers. I can see why, I hate to think what they would eat at 8 weeks. I'll find out monday when I have my elbow surgery in December and they all gotta be statues by then. On the feed front it looks like about 15 lbs a day if those rocks are eating 4 oz like they are supposed to. plucker
