hi all,
just wondering. Ive decided to get a sebright bantam(s).
First of all i wasnt planning to get more than one but then i thought it might get lonely, is that true? Does it matter if i only have one?
Also i was going to get it/them next spring but im not sure if i should get a day old chick or a fertile, either way is it possible to sex a sebright chick at that age because i need a hen(s) because i have neighbours and i wouldnt want to get a rooster and get really attached to it then have to give it away.
Plus i heard they are henfeathered so....can like proffesionals sex sebright bantam chicks?

thx

Tesi:
Most breeders can't sex day old chicks and hatcheries don't sex bantams. You might ask the hatchery if they would, if that's the way you're going. Might be better to deal with a breeder and get a couple of started pullets. That way you know you will have females

Chickens are social creatures. You should have two females if you aren't getting a male.
