If you still have them on the 12th of June, let me know & I will come & take all of the pullets! Talked my Hubby into it, but not until the new coop is finished & all of the chickens are settled in! That should be done by then, plus, I have that day off!

We are located NW Fort Wayne. We just started our coop. Getting 6 Reds, a Frizzle Rooster, and 10 chicks on Wednesday. We have room for 30 chickens total. I would like to get a few more egg layers. Please reply. Thanks.

Birch, how well do leghorns hold up in Indianas winters. I was considering Wyandottes for my chicken flock im starting next spring, but would like to consider something else as well. Id love to have a rooster named Froghorn. If i remember right leghorns are a old purebreed non hybrid right? Are they good dual purpose birds or stricktly eggs? Do they go broody or will i need to get special equipment to care for babies. laslty, what is there temperment like?

any chicken will hold up in winter, their are sum pure bred leghorns out their yes i get mine from hatchery their a hybrid leghorn Strickly for Egg Production. They wont go broody no. Their temperament firstly chickens were never met to be pets their a farm animal. If your interested i will have have some barred rocks for sale they lay brown eggs good egg layers and very good meat and the temperament on them is purdy good least my line is
