LOL I thought he looked like a roo! I am getting pretty good with the crested breeds. :) They have such a little crow, Hubby should not mind..... too much!. LOL I just got my Seramas out yesterday. Need to get rid of this Red Roo so I can have the big cage for them. Promised my neice & nephews that I would not eat him. LOL

If only I needed another cock around here...Two of my RIR chicks are supposed to be cockerels. I'm hoping the chicken sexer at the hatchery went for that advanced chicken sexing degree and gave me an accurate count of pullets to cockerels ratio. Last year whoever was working at Ideal the day they were checking out chicken parts must have been either drunk or in dire need of a refresher course. I could have done a better job by pointing at the different chicks and telling them what sex they were.

I put a sign out in the yard. Maybe somebody will come by & take him. I really need the cage for the Seramas. They have out grown the Parrot cage they are in. :) The biggest one is up to 15 ozs. LOL

I will always remember the "Prairie Chicken" fiasco..I was probably 8 yrs old..Grandpa told me we were having "Prairie Chicken" for dinner..I tasted it but wouldn't eat the rest..It just tasted weird..
I found out later in life why the "pretty bunny" in the backyard disappeared!!!! LOL

A farmer saw my sigh & stopped & took the red roo! He was tickled when he saw it. Thought it would be a RIR or something. You should have seen the grin on his face when he saw the roo. Thought he was going to crack up. Said he had to have a roo that crazy looking. THEN... he saw the rest of my flock & lost it, saying things like, "I'll be derned." Said his wife would probably make a pet out of the silly looking thing.
Seramas are now in the larger cage & LOVING it! :)

ROFLMAO!!! Bring them on down! I can turn the sign over & write anything I want on it. LOL Good excuse to visit! :) OR, just take them to the Troy event, & slip them into a poor unsuspecting persons' car. LOL

Congrats on finding the red roo a home. How many extra Roos left? :)

I will have a Crevecoeur, as soon as I seperate & get a couple dozen eggs to hatch by him. Then I can swap him for the one I want to keep. :) Think I am keeping the rest & getting a few pullets for them after the new coop is done. :)

Sounds like a plan. I'm down to 2 extra Roos, both bantam Cochins. I'm keeping 1 and getting him some hens(hopefully) and the other is going to my uncle whenever we make a trip down.
